Phoenix Now Offers Claims Management to Companion Clients
Agreement includes Injured Worker Advocacy Program Free to Insureds
Rocklin, Calif. (June 26, 2011) — Phoenix Risk Management Insurance Services is pleased to announce its agreement with Companion Property and Casualty Insurance Company to provide specialty claims management administered by Intercare Insurance Services. These services are exclusively offered to business written through Phoenix Risk Management and Lenimentus marketing group.

Phoenix brings Companion clients a premier claims organization in California with an impeccable reputation and dedicated service team that offer the highest quality service to manage claims and effectively reduce insurance costs. Companion policy holders written through Phoenix Risk Management will benefit greatly from enhanced claims services, such as fewer claims per examiner, online access to loss information, and responsive customer service from experienced examiners.
“One unique service component we are including is our new injured worker advocacy program. The program is proven to eliminate unnecessary litigation which is the single most expensive component in California workers compensation,” Hamm said.
The Injured Worker Advocacy Program (IWAP) is an additional feature of the claims agreement and is provided at no cost to insureds. This program is designed to assist the injured worker in the worker’s compensation process and includes most of the features of an Alternative Dispute Resolution.
IWAP gives the injured worker an outlet to mediate a solution to disputes outside of the costly legal system. It is expected that litigation and related costs will decrease by as much as 95 percent based on experience with other programs.
In addition to IWAP, Phoenix offers other value-added services to reduce overall claims costs. Medical bill review (MBR) decreases service costs, telephonic claims management provides proper treatment options, and the medical provider network (MPN) through Anthem and Blue Cross lowers treatment costs.
